I was driving south on Rt 301 around noon today. I had just passed thru
Middleton, DE, and I was almost in Maryland, when I noticed a farmer plowing
his field along the road. There were the usual gulls following the tractor,
but what was noteworthy was approximately 100 cattle egrets in the field. I
have never seen that many gathered together. I have heard that cattle
egrets are on the decline. Is seeing that many at one time unusual?
Thanks.
