Eared Grebe & other birdies at North Beach, MD

Hi Folks!
After work today I did a little birding at the north end of North Beach,
Calvert County, MD. The marsh area along Rt.261, immediately south of the Anne
Arundel County line had:
Blue-winged Teal 3 [all males]
Green-winged Teal 34 [mostly pairs]
American Wogeon 4 [2 pair]
Mallard 20 [all paired]
Bonaparte's Gull 53
Laughing Gull 2
Ring-billed Gull 6
Lesser Yellowlegs 2
Common Snipe 7
Savannah Sparrow 2
In the Bay from the beach were:
Horned Grebe 72 [a wide variety of plumages]
EARED GREBE 1 [well into breeding plumage, but lacking the ear tufts]
Northern Gannet 1
Greater Scaup ~250
Lesser Scaup ~30
Canvasback ~25
Bufflehead ~50
Osprey 1
With a scope, far offsjore:
Oldsquaw 2
Surf Scoter ~400
Black Scoter 2+
You can park on the sand road area between Rt. 261 and the beach and walk the
beach.
