Hi everyone,
Today I went to the Dulles Pond. Not too much which is pretty
suprising. There were a lot of Ruddy Ducks I counted 54. There were
also about 25 Ring-billed Gulls which is an increase from last week.
Lets hope there is another rare gull there this year. Other birds
included 1 kingfisher, 8 Mallards, 5 American Coots, 1 Great-blue heron,
1 Song Sparrow, and a Cormorant acting like an Anhinga. That was pretty
much it. One last interesting thing, the last few times I have been
there I have noticed a Groundhog on the island in the center of the
lake. Any ideas how it got there. Can groundhogs swim???
