I got quite the surprise thismorning about 20minutes when I walked out the back door into the yard and flushed an adult Red Headed Woodpecker.  Since I live in a residential area this quite a surprise.  I watched him for a ittle while as he flew back and forth in the oak trees, perching and looking for insects.  I am guessing that it is a migrant but if he wants to set up shop here for the summer we'll be glad to have him.
 
One Whip poor will at Soldiers Delight at 1015 pm last night, he responded back almost immediately to my very poor whip poor will imitation.
