Hey everyone,

Jared Satchell and I birded Worcester and Somerset Counties today.
Predawn we drove through the Nassawango area where Louisiana
Waterthrushes and Yellow-throated Warblers were very vocal.  We then
headed to Truitt's Landing where we flushed two American Bitterns and
two Nelson's Sparrows.  One of the Nelson's Sparrows was singing.  We
counted eight singing Seaside Sparrows. One King Rail was kekking
where the marsh meets the woods.  There was 31 Short-billed Dowitchers
with the numerous Dunlin and both yellowlegs.

We then ran into Jared Fisher and the three of us walked EA Vaughn
north.  Highlights were two Common Yellowthroats.  Jared S. and I then
headed to EA Vaughn central where we walked all the way out to the
marshes.  Highlights here included 35 Snowy Egrets, a single
Black-and-white Warbler, and a flyover Merlin.

Blades Rd in the Pocomoke was our next stop where we had a singing
Northern Parula and White-eyed Vireo.  We also had a singing
White-eyed Vireo at Hickory Point.

We then headed to Fairmont WMA in Somerset County where amongst the
hundreds of Dunlin we found three Least Sandpipers.  Off of Green
Dumpster Rd at Deal Island WMA we had a flock of 32 Glossy Ibis.

It was a great ending to March with seven warbler species (Myrtle,
Parula, Louisiana Waterthrush, Yellow-throated, Pine, Yellowthroat,
and Black-and-white) observed.
