Hi everybody:
I started my day on Wed. near Tilghman Island (TALBOT COUNTY) and looked for the American Oystercatcher first thing in the morning. It was high tide and no shorebirds or oystercatcher; I did not check it again later in the day when the tide would have been more suitable.
My highlights at Black Walnut Point were 5 GREAT CORMORANTS and 1 RED-THROATED LOON (flyby).
On Ferry Cove Rd. (accessed off of Lowe's Wharf Rd.) I set up the scope at the cul de sac and from the road (private property) scoped throught the trees and saw: Gadwall (2), N. Shoveler (2), Green-winged Teal (2) and Greater Yellowlegs (2). On the road out to Lowe's Wharf I saw 1 HERMIT THRUSH.
Bloomfield Rd. (off of Rt. 322): 1 Golden-crowned Kinglet and 3 Pine Warblers (one of which was carrying nesting material).
CAROLINE COUNTY
From the causeway at Tanyard (also fairly high tide): 29 Green-winged Teal and 17 Wilson's Snipe all nestled on top of the almost floating vegetation.
I checked a few places along the Choptank River and found 5 BONAPARTE'S GULLS off of Gilpin Pt. Rd.
The Denton Sewage Pond had one pair of Lesser Scaup.
QA COUNTY
Bloody Point Bar Light: 5 GREAT CORMORANTS, 3 Bonaparte's gull and 8 Northern Gannets (flying close to shore).
On the Chesapeake Bay viewed near Hemingway's Restaurant there were also 5 N. Gannets.
It was a great day to be out!
