Hi all,
A lovely warm sunny day to visit Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, DC, to see what might have arrived with the warm weather. WE had a nice selection of birds, although no sign of the Orange-crowned Warbler that has been hanging around the boardwalk. The best birds were a small group of five RUSTY BLACKBIRDS feeding in the marsh edge along the River Trail, two HERMIT THRUSHES, also along the River Trail, eight FOX SPARROWS (several singing) along both Boardwalk and River Trails, 6 TREE SWALLOWS over the marsh, a single OSPREY, as well as a rather late SAPSUCKER, a bright adult, and a BROWN THRASHER. Lots of beaver sign and many frogs of several species in full chorus.
The full eBird list is below.
