Nice find - seems like lots of birds are on the move!

Subject: [MDOSPREY] Tundra Swan - Kingman Island, DC

There was a tundra swan swimming between the Heritage-Kingman Island walking bridge and East Capitol Street Bridge this morning. It was there from 8:15 - 9:30am until spooked by a guy walking his dog. The swan went south down the Anacostia River, just a few feet above the surface. I checked water access areas between RFK and Bolling AFB, but no swan.

Other Kingman Island highlights:

3 tree swallows
2 eastern pheobes
1 field sparrow
2 red-shouldered hawks (chasing and locking talons in mid-air)
1 common merganser (female)
6 wood ducks
1 ruby-crowned kinglet
