Just got a text from Jane Kostenko. She got there and Joe Hanfman was already there and the bird was not to be seen. Jim Stasz had it 20 minutes before. D'oh.

Mary Burton sent a couple of definitive photos of this bird. Nice find! Yellow Bank Road is just north of the light in Dunkirk where there's a McDonald's on the SE corner.

  Gordon was heading out this morning on Yellow Bank when he saw an unusual bird in the fields at the corner of Rt 4.  A little research and we decided that it was a Sandhill crane.  So we thought we would share our picture with some birders that might be interested.  A great way to start the day.  Mary
