I spent a couple of hours at Hughes Hollow and Violette's Lock this morning.  The birds did  not show themselves well at Hughes, at least not for me.  I did have a Lincoln's Sparrow on the main dike, the only sparrow I saw, and a Cape May Warbler in a mixed flock at the other end of Hunting Quarter Rd.  At Violette's Lock there was a flock of c 100 Tree Swallow which also included a couple of Barn Swallow and Rough-winged, but nothing more unusual.

At home this afternoon we had a mixed flock pass through the yard which contained Tennessee and Black-throated Green Warbler, Northern Parula, Red-eyed Vireo, Scarlet Tanager and Swainson's Thrush amongst the more expected birds, which is quite a flock for our yard so clearly a lot of birds still around.

Good birding
