Took a long leisurely walk at CVP this am. 41 species of regular
breeders. The most interesting sighting was not a bird, but a mating
frenzy of Cicada Killer wasps.
These were located in the mid-section of the western end of the Minebank
trail, in a 30' stretch of sunny grass. We estimated at least
individuals. Another person present said the wasps have been there all
week. I know cicada killers are not very aggressive, but we opted not
to walk through that stretch of trail & went back whence we came.
