Lisa and I spent part of the holiday Monday birding Charles County. Before trying (and failing) to find the Mississippi Kite reported along Dubois Road, we spent several hours driving along Route 6 and Route 234 in the Nanjemoy area.

Nice birds seen included Summer Tanager, Prothonatary Warbler , Bald Eagle (2 adults and a sub-adult) and Great-Crested Flycatcher. ... We also heard Hooded and Prairie warblers, Wood Thrush, Ovenbird, Redstart, Acadian Flycatcher and Scarlet Tanager, among others.
