I didn't have to go to Hughes Hollow to see a Mississippi Kite - one just flew over my neighborhood at treetop level! It was too backlit to tell if it was an adult. 

That's the Indian Spring neighborhood about a mile north of downtown Silver Spring, just inside the Beltway. 

A beautiful, graceful bird!
