My son woke me up around 3:30, and falling back asleep wasn't working
too well for me.  Since I had to work in Worcester, I decided to hit
the road early.  I'm glad I did.

Highlights from this morning's visit to EIR in Dorchester County:

-An AMERICAN BITTERN.
-DUNLIN, twenty or more.
-A singing CHUCK Will's Widow.
-SEASIDE, Savannah, Song, Swamp and House Sparrows.
-MARSH WRENS and Common Yellowthroats by the dozens.
-A BLACK-NECKED STILT flyover.
-VIRGINIA and CLAPPER RAILS calling
-A flurry of NORTHERN GANNETS feeding in the river, viewed from the boat launch
-A handful of BOAT-TAILED GRACKLES on the shore.
-Two RED-THROATED and Four COMMON LOONS on the water.
-One lone female COMMON GOLDENEYE out with the loons and gannets.
As I was heading out, I enjoyed watching a performing troupe of WILD
TURKEYS. Three males were blown up and strutting around their lek,
vying for the attention of a large gathering of ladies.

Upon my return home, that Chipping Sparrow must have mentioned to his
friends about how my son spills the seed when he tries to fill the
feeders.  I watched no less than 14 Chipping Sparrows this evening
filling up on millet.
