Hi all --
What a difference a day makes! Obviously there was a major exodus last night
from the park, and very few newcomers. The most interesting were the
continuing LOON and KESTREL, as well as the first EASTERN TOWHEES of the
season here. But no kinglets, gnatcatchers, warblers or any significant
signs of migration. The number of Robins was down by 75% and sparrows as
well. I think we have said good-bye to our Fox Sparrows for the year.
One amusing sight was an Osprey hunting over the ornamental Koi pond at
Brookside Gardens, making many passes until he finally connected with a
small fish and took off to enjoy his breakfast!
