Following up on Dave Czaplak's report of Surf Scoters at Riley's Lock, I spent a little time scanning the river late this morning.  I found a full breeding plumage Common Loon, the continuing Red-necked Grebe, and the five Surf Scoters that Dave reported.  There was an impressive number of Horned Grebes on the Potomac as well.
