After a long wait, the GC sparrow showed itself briefly about 4:04 PM on Dec 27.
It was NOT at the big poke plant, but close by the hedgerow about 1/2 way between that poke bush and the office.
At one point, we had a white crowned sparrow, the golden crowned, and a white throat lined up in a row, so had a wonderful opportunity to compare and contrast. Tried to get a "point and hope" picture (shooting blindlly with a small camera), but the GC was too quick and got away. It was restless today and did not allow more than very short looks for a brief period. Stuck close by the hedgerow, maybe because it didn't much care for the snow and wind.
Also saw a nice flock of cedar waxwings, a brown thrasher, northern harrier and sharpshin hawk, among others. Gotta love those cedar waxwings (but not quite as much as the rarity!).
