Mike Welch and I spent a delightful morning yesterday at Assateague (yes on
Ash-throated Flycatcher and Northern Shrike) and Ocean City (Iceland Gull,
thank you Mikey Lutmerding).  On our drive back, we took a mid afternoon
drive around the perimeter of Blackwater.  The afternoon was cloudy and
darkening, and at 3:30 PM we had a long, lovely look at a Short-eared Owl
coursing through the marsh on Maple Dam Road.
