Like everyone else I enjoyed Purple Finch (at least one each of purple and brown) and Pine Siskin (at least 3 birds) at my feeders today. They were quite cooperative and posed for some pictures:

I have only just got back after being away for several weeks and the feeders had just gone up so it was very nice getting them to visit so quickly as the seasons turn.
 
Speaking of being away and seasons turning, gulls will be in force in a month or so, and for those who like them and want to find something rare in our area the following taken on my last trip might be of interest:
