We are clearly transitioning over from migrants (birds buzzing past on their
way to Antarctica or some other southern place, like Florida. I think
they're right next to each other.) to winter birds. The ones we might
actually be counting in January. Today I had plenty of KINGLETS (BOTH) and
WHITETHROATS, but the big thrill was my first of fall BROWN CREEPER. It
landed on a tree right in front of me. Can't remember the last time I might
have had a naked-eye look at one from about 8 ft away. No warblers today.
