I saw a drab but unmistakable DARK-EYED JUNCO this morning, chipping and
investigating a brush pile as I walked around the block in our Scientists'
Cliffs neighborhood.
My walk up the hill to find cell phone reception wasn't intended as
birding, and most avian activity was from Cardinal and Goldfinch families. I did
see two or three (three sightings, one possible duplication) SCARLET
TANAGERS, an AMERICAN REDSTART, and a couple of RED-EYED VIREOS, along with the
more common residents.
