Had a gorgeous climb on the 120' meterological tower this morning. Hardly any wind, temps near 60. FOY Chimney Swift. I had a great, unobstructed view of a Yellow-throated Warbler about 20 feet below me. I always marvel at looking at treetop dwelling warblers from above!
Yesterday, several of us went up to look across at the Bald Eagle nest. Last week the mother eagle wouldn't move so we couldn't see the eaglet but yesterday she decided that she needed to stretch her wings so flew off leaving the baby alone. This time we could clearly see that there is only one eaglet in the nest. Last year there were two. The baby flapped it wing stubs a couple of time. No hint of pin feathers yet just gray fuzzy down.
