While hiking students around Hard Bargain Farm today I was lucky enough
to see a first-of-year Prothonotary Warbler. We had excellent views at
about 50 feet. He was checking out a cavity so I'll check back for
nesting activity sometime soon. We also have Eastern Bluebirds and Tree
Swallows sitting on eggs and the Osprey keep snagging handfuls
(feetful?) of dried grass from the fields. It's getting very birdy
around here!
