A nice morning birding in Rock Creek Park and Fletcher's Cove. Will
McPhail and I found a Louisiana Waterthrush right where Greg Gough had
it the other day (just down the hill from the bridge over Ross
Drive). In the same area was a singing Rusty Blackbird. On the
drive out of the park we swung by the Ridge and came across Dick ___
(didn't get your last name Dick!) who had just found a few Palm
Warblers. He kindly pointed us in the right direction. Lots of
Chipping Sparrows in the Maintenance Yard parking lot, as well as at
least one at the Golf Course. No Purple Martins in the Martin House
at the golf course - we were hoping for some early arrivals. We
headed to Fletcher's Boathouse hoping for Yellow-throated Warblers -
Will is nearly positive he heard one, but we never got on it. Tons of
Cormorants fishing the river and perched in the trees.

Cheers,
