Gary, if you try ordering thru an e-mail site, be aware that there was
an early version: Peter Harrison, Seabirds: An Identification Guide
(Princeton Univ. Press, 1983) which was thorough, illustrated with
paintings of various life stages, and full of detailed info on all
aspects of range, desciptions, etc. and still would be valuable,
if somewhat dated in some research.
The later version is Peter Harrison, Seabirds of the Wrold: A
Photographic Guide, (Princteon Univ. Press, 1997) which
includes many in-flight photos.
You might consider ordering the latter through the ABA (Amer.
Birding Ass'n) web site -- latest info I have gives a discount for
members.
