On another note, I did a brief walk arourd the yard this morning. Two birds of note; one Empid species perched fairly high in a tree, but I have no idea what species it was! Then I spied a very dark bird perched on the top of a power pylon which I can see from only one or two places in the yard, and from our front porch. Turned out to be an adult Bald Eagle, so I got the scope set up on the front porch and let my wife have a look too. Got a few digi-pics. I've never seen one perch on a power pylon before, so it was interesting. Hope my neighboirs don't think I was spying on them.

Just an off-topic comment. I think the numbers on Porcupines are increasing.
On a recent trip to NW PA, I noticed more dead road-kill porcies than
anything else and I never thought of them as common growing up there. I have
never seen one in Garrett. Mikey got good shots of some. Is this a range
expansion?
