High activity but not too much diversity at Hughes Hollow this morning. A few highlights were a woodpecker sweep (without really having to move) which included FOS Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, and also a nice cooperative Blue-Headed Vireo. List follows.
I then stopped by Violette's Lock where I had a distant but satisfactory look at a CASPIAN TERN. Also present were some wood ducks, cormorants, a few great blue herons, and chimney swifts. On Sept 29th I had my FOS American Coot here.
Yesterday, I struck out again trying for the Marsh Wren at pine lake in Wheaton RP, but a very nice consolation was a LINCOLN'S SPARROW hanging around a thicket on the southwest part of the lake.
