The highlights from my morning walk around Schoolhouse Pond included a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher and a Veery. The Yellow-bellied Flycatcher was foraging in the willows near the boardwalk and at one point perched on the wire rail along the boardwalk, allowing close views. The Veery was low in the vegetation near the same area before flying back into the woods.
Also present were several Eastern Wood Pewees, Eastern Phoebes, 1 Acadian Flycatcher, 1 Double-crested Cormorant, 4 Great Blue Herons, 2 Great Egrets (no night herons today), 1 Mute Swan, White-eyed Vireo, several Common Yellowthroats, and 7 flyover Laughing Gulls.
