I know people are reluctant to post owl information here on the board, so I won't post any details. However, I'm hoping to get a response offline regarding Barn Owls in Baltimore County-- or someone well versed in owl vocalizations (beyond the standard vocalizations, but rather young, etc.) to help me alternate possibilities.

In short, several weeks ago I heard what may have been Barn Owls-- the vocalizations were similar screeching/eerie calls I've heard out west, and quite loud (heard from a distance, tracked location, but no visual). The volume was far louder than young Barred Owls I've heard in the past. I have yet to hear again at this location, and daytime excursions to the location have yielded no results either. (Though I'll admit, my time has been limited.)
