Rob and Wendy Olsson joined Carol and me for a fun weekend of Eastern Shore birding.  We birded Dorchester Co on Saturday and Somerset today.  I'll be getting up in a couple hours for--you guessed it!-- more birding, so I'll just report a couple highlights.


DORCHESTER COUNTY (13 June 2009)

Taylors Island

Ring-necked Pheasant--1
Northern Bobwhite--5
Red-headed Woodpecker--3 adults on Robinson Neck Rd

Key Wallace Drive

American White Pelican--1 continues

Elliott Island Rd

Least Bittern--1
Black-necked Stilt--2
White-rumped Sandpiper--1
Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed Sparrow--4 in a single, small area (active around 7 pm)


SOMERSET COUNTY (14 June 2009)

Deal Island (Wenona)

Cattle Egret--1

Crab Island Rd (near Oriole)

Red-headed Woodpecker--1 adult


Plenty of other nice birds along the way!
