NW Carroll, NE Frederick Counties

Observed the following birds in areas of far northwest Carroll County and adjacent parts of Frederick County today (June 6):

Carroll-
Red-headed Woodpecker- one adult along Ruggles Road about a quarter mile east of Teeter Road, and two adults  along Keysville Road just north of Sixes Bridge Road 

Bobolink- one male perched on wire at sharp curve of Walnut Grove Road north of Bowers Road 

The Walnut Grove spot also had a male American Kestrel, Field Sparrow, a male Baltimore Oriole and two Eastern Meadowlarks.

Frederick-
Vesper Sparrow- 1 along Harney Road east of Bollinger School Road

Several Horned Larks, one Savannah Sparrow, and one Grasshopper Sparrow along the north end of Shriver Road
