John Stup was just getting started when I arrived, so we birded together 
until he had to leave.  Best birds were a first spring male Am. 
Redstart, singing vigorously, and a Hooded Warbler about 150 yards west 
of where John had seen and heard it in the last two weeks.

I'm convinced that bird numbers are down along Kingsley Trail between 
the parking lot and the old school, at least for some species.  I have 
yet to hear or see a Yellow-billed Cuckoo or a Yellow-throated Vireo 
this year there, and there have been very few Northern Parulas and 
Yellow Warblers (none today).  Numbers of Scarlet Tanagers, White-eyed 
Vireos, Wood Thrushes, and all the woodpeckers seem to be down dramatically.
