Hi Everybody,
The Kent County Bird Club will be running an all day trip to the shores
of Delaware Bay on Saturday, 16 May. We will meet participants at the
Dollar General parking lot in Chestertown across from the end of Spring
St. (and between Maple St /MD-213 and Philosopher's Terrace) at 8:00 AM.
We plan to cover the bay shore from Prime Hook north to Mispillion
Light. The current forecast for Saturday is cloudy with a chance of
thunderstorms and temperatures on the cool side. Participants should
bring along rain gear and a jacket, although of course the forecast is
subject to change. With the full moon last weekend, there should be
abundant horseshoe crab eggs and large numbers of shorebirds and others
taking advantage of the bounty. Particularly numerous species include
Semipalmated Sandpiper, Ruddy Turnstone, Red Knot and Laughing Gull.
Anyone who wishes to meet us at Prime Hook should call us to arrange a
time and place. Wet or not, this should be a good bird trip.
Good birding,
