I've had plenty of time this morning to watch my yardbirds, I was hoping for this rain to stop but it doesn't seem to have an end to it.
I have been entertained just looking out my windows at my yardbirds. I heard the loud call of the Pileated woodpecker nearby so I did a search of the trees and found him practically flattened against a tree across from my driveway. He seemed stuck in one position for a long time. I thought this was odd. At this time all my small birds had disappeared so after scanning my yard I found what I believe is a Coopers Hawk. So they were in opposites end of my yard, the Pileated at one corner and the Hawk in the other corner.
