After the nice finds at Rocky Gap, I had to check out the Cumberland
Terminus. Unfortunately repairs to the courthouse may have driven away
the Peregrine Falcon which had been using it as a roost, as I saw
workers on scaffolding when I scoped the courthouse. However, I was
pleased to find 4 BONAPARTE'S GULL mixed with 4 Ring-billed Gull on
the growing spit of mud and rock in the middle of the Potomac. I
didn't get to watch them for long though, as they, and every other
bird, took flight within minutes of my arrival when an adult Bald
Eagle appeared overhead. Birds of all shapes and sizes are definitely
feeling the "zugunruhe" right now. Migration is in motion.

Look to the skies,

David
