The last sighting of the two Tundra Swans at the Little Patuxent Oxbow Lake Nature Preserve may have been by Ed Boyd late yesterday afternoon. Jay Sheppard just called to say the swans are gone. Interestingly, on Sunday I watched the swans circle the lake 3-4 times before settling down again. Maybe they were just getting in a little exercise to prepare them to join the Spring migration north.
Trumpeter Swan #960 was last seen on Feb 17th. Maybe he is winging his way to Ontario to find his life-long soul mate.
