My girlfriend Colleen and I birded Dorchester County this afternnon in the
snow searching for lark flock that may be hiding Snaow Buntings or
longspurs. Although we viewed many Horned Lark flocks we were only
successful in finding something special on Indian Town Rd where we observed
one Snow Bunting feeding along the road with a flock of 40 larks.

I was talking to a friend at work about chasing gulls when he asked if I had
been to look at the gulls at the rendering plant in Linkwood. Not knowing
about the place he told me that there are always many gulls present so
Colleen and I checked it out today. My friend was right, there were
probably around 1000 gulls around the plant. Most were Herring Gulls with
Black-backs and Ring-bills in lesser numbers. This place is definitely
worth checking out. It is located about 2 miles north of Rt 50 on Linkwood
Rd.
