Went out birding at lunch with a coworker. There was considerable heat shimmer on the water (what's up with that?!) so looking over towards Thomas Point was a waste of time. Very few waterfowl around. Best birds were a large flock of Bonaparte's Gulls at Beverly Beach. We scanned through the flock but couldn't pick out anything better.
