Dear All
A quick note to report a few things of note from DC today:
On the Anacostia this morning a (the?) male White-winged Scoter flew downriver over the S Capitol St Bridge at about 8am,and a Great Egret was amongst the gulls heading upriver in the opposite direction. The same egret was seen later in the Poplar Pt area.
There was an immature Kumlien's Gull on the Anacostia shoreline by the outfall opposite Poplar Pt at 10am but it flew off up river and could not be relocated.
Paul Pisano picked out a pair of Redheads from amongst a group of Lesser Scaup off the end of Hains Pt at 2pm, and a Lesser Black-backed Gull was sitting on the railings nearby.
Cheers
