After traipsing around Greenbelt Lake (PG County) this morning with little to show for it, I ran in to a nice little pocket of fall migrants in the trees between the lake parking lot and the lake itself, near a bunch of picinic tables:
_ Rose-Breasted Grosbeak, female
_ Red-Eyed Vireo
_ Yellow-Throated Vireo
_ Black-Throated Green Warbler
_ a yellow warbler I only got a glance at, looked like an immature Hooded or a Wilson's
Other sightings around the lake included:
_ Common Yellowthroat, 2 immatures
_ Pileated Woodpecker
_ Grey Catbird (2 heard, 1 seen)
_ Wood Ducks (I counted at least 24, many immatures)
Good Birding!
