Thank you for the information, Melanie. When Bob and I stayed
overnight on the Severn River in mid-July, a young osprey was
carrying on much of the time. An adult bird was there--presumably
Dad?--but I don't think it was feeding the youngster. We heard osprey
calls until dark, and it was the first thing we heard come dawn. The
young bird was by itself in the morning--I was wondering why it never
shut up. Glad I know what's what. It's a hard adolescence for them!
