Subject: AMAV at Poplar
Hi Norm,
Since I am not on MDOsprey, could you please post this?
I have been doing fieldwork one day a week (monitoring DCCO, SNEG, COTE,
LETE, ) over on Poplar Island and thought this would be of interest.
On Tuesday, 15 July, I spotted 4 American Avocets in one of the cells at
Poplar Island. I did not see the Black-necked Stilts this week. Also, as
Jan Reese recently stated, the shorebirds (mostly Short-billed Dows, both
Yellowlegs and Least Sandpipers) are increasing now. I noticed a big
increase in numbers this week, as compared to last week.
Thanks!
