You can file comment with the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission, 
calling for a moratorium on horseshoe crab harvest, to save the still 
declining rufa subspecies of the Red Knot.  If the current decline in 
horseshoe crabs and Red Knots continues, this subspecies if forecast to go 
extinct in the near future.  This was posted to the Delaware listeserve, but 
the Red Knot is a Maryland species as well. I've been priveleged to see it 
twice in Maryland.
