I spent the morning in the field in DC, hitting Hains Pt, Anacostia River
Park, Kenilworth Park and the National Arboretum. Gary Allport already gave
a report from Hains Pt. Only thing I can add is that there ended up being 2
Short-billed Dowitchers - a May tick for me and hard-to-find bird in DC. I
didn't spend much time in Anacostia, just enough to hit the wetlands, which
are very wet (and looking very inviting). Same goes for Kenilworth Park -
short visit because it was pretty quiet. The Arboretum was pretty active,
especially since I didn't get there until 10:45 or so. My day's highlights
