I was surprised to see a Ruddy Duck at Perryville Park this afternoon,
so it's nice to know there are others not too far from here, as the duck flies.
Most of the coots have gone, but the park was filled with orioles.
The male Baltimores
had quite a bit of variety in their songs--one sounded as though he was saying
"he's a pretty bird." An Orchard Oriole just said "EEE."
I had a great look at a Black-throated Green Warbler among the many
Yellow-rumps
at the point. Great-crested Flycatchers and Eastern Kingbirds were
also numerous
and vocal.
