Interestingly enough, I had two Carolina Chickadees going in and out
of their nest box outside the bedroom window throughout the day. I
didn't notice any moss being carried in or out, nor do I think they're
nesting. Probably just out with a realtor looking at potential
properties.
I have noticed our resident Mockingbird was staking claim to our yard.
We had close to 500 Cedar Waxwings in the trees of West Annapolis
today (similar to most of the last few weeks). But today, the Mocker
felt it was his duty to go after them continuously. He must be
exhausted right now. I've not seem him working that hard in months,
flying back and forth into the pines, back to the roses, over the
junipers, back to the pines. Repeat.
It was impressive to witness. That said, the Waxwings just kept
moving around, but staying put to feast on Juniper berries from our
backyard.
