I had at least eight Common Mergansers in the Anacostia River this morning, seen in the distance downstream from the banks of the river at Kenilworth Park. They seem to return to this stretch of the river every winter. What a sleek, handsome looking bird!

The park was filled with huge flocks of CAGOs and AMCRs, only other birds of note were three Eastern Bluebirds sitting on the crossbar of one of the football goalposts.

	Good Birding!
