Our New Year's Day stroll along the canal early this afternoon took a detour down to the base of the American Legion Bridge to look for the Peregrines. We'd only been there a few minutes when both came flying upstream. They didn't come into land however but flew over the bridge and spent about 10 minutes soaring around together on the upstream side of the bridge enjoying the stiff breeze blowing down the river. It was the first time I've seen the pair together since early summer last year.
Good birding,
