Hi All,
I just finished uploading pictures from yet another great day at
Blackwater NWR, Dorchester Co. last Saturday Dec1. The owls put on an
awesome show that I undoubtedly wish to experience again soon. I was
really surprised how aggressive and confrontational they were toward other
raptors, considering how vulnerable they are to predation from Goshawks up
north. They usually get butchered by the Goshawks during the winters home
in Norway. Hopefully, they are able to distinguish between a harmless
competitor such as the N. Harrier and their fierce nemesis the N. Goshawk
when they encounter them.
