I birded in Worcester County this past Saturday and Sunday.  

The Saturday (9/15) highlight was a very cooperative Marbled Godwit, on the beach in the ORV zone of Assateague.  Despite several reports of them on the beach this fall (a habitat they certainly like on the west coast), this is the first one I have ever seen directly on the ocean front.  This is always one of my favoriates to see (being a shorebird lover since the tender age of 16) and my first good digital photos. I stayed down for the big cold front that went through Saturday, but the flight at Bayside Sunday (9/16) morning was relatively disappointing.  My theory is the winds were just too strong.  Migrants at the point included:  1 Warbling Vireo, 2 Philadephia Vireos, 2 Red-eyed Vireos, 2 Red-br Nuthatches, 1 Nashville Warbler, 1 N. Paurla, 1 Magnolia Warbler, 4 Prairie Warblers, 3 western Palms, 1 Bay-breasted, 1 Blackpoll, 1 Black-and-white, 12 Am. Redstarts, 1 Northern Warterthrush, 6 Cm. Yellowthroats and 12 warbler (sp.), 1 Blue Grosbeak, 2 Scarlet Tanagers, 6 Bobolinks and 1 Baltimore Oriole.  Bayside Inland held an additional 3 Magnolia, 5 Prairies, 1 western Palm, 1 Black-and-white, 2 yellowthroat, 1 (migrant) juv. Chipping Sparrow and 2 Baltimore Orioles.
